Functorial Methods in Representation Theory Summer School

  • DatesAugust 7-20, 2017 (Talks will start in the morning on August 6, and end at noon time on August 20).
  • Aims
This workshop is primarily meant for graduate students and postdocs with the intention to become introduced to modular representation theory and block theory, to some of its fundamental questions, and to new developments and methods (especially functorial methods) in the field. Participants who are beyond the stage of postdocs are of course welcome as well.

  • Who may participate?
Familiarity with general concepts in algebra (groups, rings, modules, categories) and familiarity with ordinary representation theory (representations and characters of finite groups over the field of complex numbers).
